Can Laurens Löwe ist seit Mai 2020 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am DFG-Projekt "Human Abilities" unter der Leitung von Dominik Perler (HU Berlin) und Barbara Vetter (FU Berlin). Er hat Philosophie und Kunstgeschichte an der HU Berlin studiert und promovierte an der KU Leuven mit einer Dissertation über Thomas von Aquins Handlungstheorie. Nach der Promotion 2016 war er zunächst Post-Doctoral Fellow der flämischen Forschungsgemeinschaft (FWO) und Mitarbeiter an einem Projekt zu mittelalterlichen Theorien der Wirkursächlichkeit an der KU Leuven. Von 2018 bis 2020 war er als Post-Doctoral Research Associate an der Purdue University tätig. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Handlungstheorie und Vermögensmetaphysik des Mittelalters. Er interessiert sich auch für systematische Fragen im Bereich der Metaphysik sowie für antike Philosophie, vor allem für das Denken Aristoteles'. Gegenwärtig arbeitet er an einem Buchprojekt zu Theorien von Seelenvermögen im 13. und 14. Jahrhundert.
