Student Assistent Position (Humboldt-Universität Kennziffer 08/2021)

 

The Department of Philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is seeking to fill the position of a student assistant (40 hours per month) for a period of 24 months, starting 1st September 2021. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with the members of the DFG Emmy-Noether Junior Research Group “A Sensible World. The Problem of Secondary Qualities in and around the School of Brentano” (www.a-sensible-world.net).

Job Profile: The successful candidate should be interested in participating in the work of a junior research group; have excellent knowledge of English; be able to do literature research; be willing to provide teaching support; and to participate to the preparation of international conferences and workshops. 

A special interest in the history of philosophy (end of 19th and beginning of 20th Century, esp. Brentano School and Phenomenology) or in contemporary debates in metaphysics and epistemology (among others, theories of colours, naive vs. scientific worldview) is desired. 

Requirements: The successful candidate should be enrolled as a student of philosophy (BA or MA).
