Overview
Matteo Collodel received his university degree in philosophy from the "Ca' Foscari" University of Venice in 2001 with a graduation thesis on Mary Hesse's philosophical work. In 2007 he earned his research doctorate at the same University with a dissertation on Paul K. Feyerabend's idea of incommensurability. He spent an academic year at the University of Manchester as an Erasmus student (1998-99) and was research visiting scholar for shorter periods of time at various other academic institutions, such as the University of Cambridge (2001) and the archives of the University of Konstanz (2004, 2005, 2012), the Alpe-Adria University of Klagenfurt (2005, 2010), the London School of Economics (2008, 2009, 2010), the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace at Stanford University (2009), the University of Pittsburgh (2012) and the University of Minnesota (2012).
- Since 2008 he is Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy of the Humboldt University of Berlin (in collaboration with the Zentralen Einrichtung für Wissenschaftstheorie und Wissenschaftsethik of the Leibniz University of Hannover), where he is working on a German Research Council (DFG) funded project (project number: OB 331/2-1, OB 331/2-2) whose main aim is collecting and editing Paul Feyerabend's correspondence with Karl Popper, Herbert Feigl, Rudolph Carnap, Carl G. Hempel, Thomas S. Kuhn, Imre Lakatos and John W. N. Watkins.
- His research interests focus on the history of the philosophy of science, general philosophy of science, the philosophy of language, formal logic, the philosophy of medicine, the sociology of science and intellectual history.
